We are seeking dedicated employees for the following positions:
Park Maintenance Technician II
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Performs manual labor tasks required to maintain city parks and facilities. Duties include mowing grass and clearing foliage, cleaning playgrounds and pavilions, general operation, maintenance and repair of park equipment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to:
- Parks and Recreation Director
- Directs: This is a non-supervisory position.
- Other: Has contact with other city employees and with the general public.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
*Essential Duties*
Maintains plants, mows, propagates, cultivates, fertilizes and/or trims grass, trees, flowers, shrubs, and brush, including use of various light equipment and hand tools; Clears fallen limbs and foliage from park areas.
Maintains park equipment and facilities; Performs minor plumbing repairs including irrigation lines, heads and control valves in parks and at city facilities, and performs minor electrical repairs.
Operates necessary vehicles and tools including pickup truck, chainsaw, carpentry tools, garden implements and tractors;
Assists with cleaning, organizing, and inventory control of service areas, equipment and supplies; assists in preparation and facilitation of events.
Oversees and directs work of community service workers, volunteers and new employees and projects as assigned; responsible for the safe operation of equipment and safety and security of park areas and individuals in park areas.
Assists in the construction and assembly of parks and recreation equipment. Other Important Duties* Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: basic landscaping; the safe operation of the equipment used and of the provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code relating to operation of light and heavy motorized equipment; irrigation systems, basic plumbing; basic electrical systems and repairs; and fertilizer and chemical applications.
Skill/Ability to: operate standard maintenance equipment applying safety standards to prevent hazards; understand and follow instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public; tolerate outside working conditions, including exposure to adverse weather conditions.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least two years of general maintenance experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Appropriate Texas driver’s license with good driving record. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Salary range: $16.00 to $18.00/hourly

Deputy Court Clerk
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible to assist the court administrator in all daily functions of the Municipal Court. General administrative duties; greets walk-in customers/citizens; answer telephones and direct inquiries to correct departments. This position is highly visible involving constant contact with the public. Requires ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues; requires considerable tact and judgment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Court Administrator
- Directs: This is a non-supervisory position.
- Other: Frequent contact with the general public; works closely with judges, police department and other city employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates with the public in person and answering phones, responding to email inquiries, providing information as requested and sending notifications, summons, and subpoenas to defendants, prosecutors, and attorneys.
Complete data entry by entering citations into computer, posting payments, updating records.
Complete court ordered actions for defendants by setting up payment plans, deferred dispositions, 30-day extensions, completing driver safety requests, and resetting court dates.
Preparing the courtroom for hearings, creating jury pools, summoning prospective jurors, preparing final judgement documents and warrants.
Performs all of the responsibilities of the Court Administrator in his/her absence.
Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: Modern office practices, procedures and equipment including personal computers and related software such as word processing, spreadsheet programs and web-based management systems.
Skill/Ability: Effectively assist the public; prepare records, and correspondence neatly and professionally; operate a variety of office machines; accurately type 40 words per minute; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, city officials and the general public; demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; maintain records and files with precision and accuracy.
Maintain regular, predictable, and reliable attendance during scheduled hours.
Maintain confidentiality and communicate with tact and diplomacy.
Demonstrate positive and effective interaction and communication with individuals of diverse social and economic backgrounds.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
A good knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Fluency in Spanish is not required but desired.

Police Officer
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under general supervision, performs tasks related to ensuring the public safety and law enforcement of criminal activities.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

Salary range: $66,846.38 to $79,400.24/yearly
